Thailand has officially revised its minimum daily wage rates following the publication of the Wage Committee Notification (No. 14) in the Royal Gazette. The new rates took effect on 1 July 2025.
What Changed
Bangkok:
The minimum daily wage has increased to THB 400 per day for all sectors across the Bangkok Metropolitan Area.
Selected business types nationwide:
The THB 400 per day minimum also applies nationwide to:
Hotels classified as Type 2, 3, or 4 under the Hotel Act (e.g. hotels with more than 50 rooms or that offer lodging plus dining/entertainment facilities).
Entertainment establishments as defined under the Entertainment Places Act (including bars, pubs, karaoke lounges, and massage parlours).
This rate applies even in provinces where the general minimum wage is lower.
Other provinces:
For all other provinces and business types, the minimum daily wages remain based on the new schedule below.

Who Is Affected
- The revised wage rates override any lower rates stated in existing employment contracts or internal policies.
- Employers must therefore pay the new applicable minimum rate for all work performed from 1 July 2025 onward.
- The government estimates this change benefits more than 700,000 workers, particularly in Bangkok and the hotel and entertainment sectors.
What Employers Should Do
- Confirm your classification: Verify whether your business falls under the Hotel Act or Entertainment Places Act to determine eligibility for the THB 400 rate.
- Update payroll systems: Adjust pay structures to comply with the new rates immediately.
- Review contracts: Ensure all agreements reflect at least the applicable minimum wage.
- Stay informed: Monitor official updates and any potential legal developments related to the announcement.
