EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS IN THE
As soon as someone accepts a job offer from an employer, they will have a contract. It does not need to be written down. However, there needs to be a ‘written statement of employment particulars’, which covers various clauses such as benefits the worker is entitled to, length of work, and more, and is not to be confused with an employment contract. MINIMUM WAGE IN THE
The UK generally has a National Minimum Wage, it is a minimum pay per hour that all workers should be entitled to. Employees of at least school leaving age are entitled to this, and upon reaching the age of 23, the National Minimum Wage would become National Living Wage, with higher rates. Apprentices are entitled to an apprentice wage if they meet certain conditions.
Wages in the UK can be calculated by the hour, by an annual salary according to work done and more. Some wages are disbursed on a weekly basis.
